Welcome to Biology!
The second of the required core of sciences (IPS, Biology, and Chemistry), Biology is a hands-on exploration of what it means to be alive. From the simplest of single-celled organisms to the complexity of the interactions between the living and non-living parts of the biosphere, the world we live in is diverse and constantly adapting.
Throughout this course, students will explore the nature of life. What is a cell? How does it maintain homeostasis? How can a strand of DNA code for the incredible diversity of proteins found within an organism? How do the interactions between living organisms impact populations... or the planet? This semester, we will be investigating the answers to these questions, and many more, through a variety of class activities, lab experiences, individual and group assignments, and in-class presentations.
